Salford Diamonds was filmed on residency at Islington Mill in Salford, Manchester in 2015. Paddy Shine from the band Gnod (based at Islington Mill) composed a new album Ayn Sof made at the same time as Salford Diamonds, an extract is used for the sound track. This work is envisaged as a form of City Symphony film, making parallels between the urban location in flux and the artists working there. The Salford area is shifting rapidly through redevelopment and has a complex industrial and working class history.
